Capo Pertusato, a lunar setting

Capo Pertusato is the southernmost point of Corsica. A lunar landscape of spectacularly shaped limestone outcrops. A road leads to the semaphore, with a small car park. Take the road closed to traffic towards the Pertusato lighthouse. Take your time admiring the panorama: to the west, Cap di Feno; to the east, the islands of Cavallo, Sperduto and Lavezzi; to the south, Sardinia. A walk not to be missed.

After a quarter of an hour's walk, turn right and walk down to the fine sandy beach of Saint Antoine, a beautiful beach that invites you to go for a swim.

Approach the open-air grotto known as l'Orca. A veritable basin sculpted by the sea, it enters through a small passage carved out by erosion to reach a small sandy beach at the bottom. A unique place!

A short diversions to contemplate a breakthrough (Partusatu in Corsica) through the cliff.

We set off up a steep path. About ten minutes later we were back on the plateau and had reached the Pertusato lighthouse, which has been keeping watch over sailors since 1844.
